Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd is situated in Mackay, Queensland, and operates 2 aged care facilities, Good Shepherd Lodge and Kerrisdale Gardens, comprising 240 beds across both sites. Our purpose is to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment that supports our residents to live their later years to the fullest.
We are currently receiving applications for the following positions:
Working as part of the Support Services team, you will be responsible for the delivery of best practice care in line with Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd policies and procedures. All duties are to be carried out within appropriate legislative standards to ensure the safety and welfare of the residents.
The positions are permanent part-time and offer the flexibility to work morning/afternoon and weekend shifts. Previous experience in the healthcare sector would be a distinct advantage.

Hospitality Positions Available Job in Mackay & Coalfields - SEEK
Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd is situated in Mackay and operates 2 aged care facilities comprising 240 beds across both sites. Our purpose is to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment that supports our residents to live their later years to the fullest.
We are seeking Nursing Staff to work within our clinical team. We offer contract or permanent part time positions and applicants will need to meet the following criteria:
REGISTERED NURSES:
• Bachelor of Nursing
• Current registration with AHPRA
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Strong understanding of Aged Care documentation and Standards
• Ability to delegate to other staff within their scope of practice
• Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, plan care, document care and manage emergencies
• Possess an empathetic attitude to the needs of the residents
• Competent in medication and wound management
• Reliable and flexible approach to a 24 hour rostering system
• Recent experience in a clinical setting, hospital or aged care setting
ENROLLED NURSES:
• Current registration with AHPRA
• Strong understanding of Aged Care documentation and Standards
• Ability to document and update care plans in line with emerging assessments
• Possess an empathetic attitude to the needs of the residents
• Competent in medication and wound management
• Excellent communication and clinical problem-solving skills
• Reliable and flexible approach to a 24 hour rostering system
• Recent experience in a clinical setting, hospital or aged care
• Able to pass a Medication Management Competency at interview
ASSISTANT IN NURSING:
• Demonstrate competence in assisting Residents with activities of daily living
• Strong communication skills and the ability to provide accurate and comprehensive documentation
• Certificate III Aged Care or working towards same
• Possess an empathetic attitude to the needs of the residents
• Excellent communication and clinical problem-solving skills
• Reliable and flexible approach to a 24 hour rostering system
• Knowledge of Residential Care Standards and experience in aged care would be an advantage

• Evidence of an up to date Influenza and Covid-19 vaccination in accordance with the current Public Health Directive for Aged Care Facilities.
